Adrenal cortical secretion disorders result from both insufficient and excessive production of adrenal cortex hormones.
Addison’s diseases:
Addison’s disease manifests through symptoms such as hypoglycemia, reduced body temperature, weakened heart function, low blood pressure, acidosis, decreased concentrations of sodium and potassium in the plasma, increased urinary loss of sodium and water, impaired kidney function, and potential kidney failure. These symptoms can result in weight loss, overall weakness, as well as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Cushing’s diseases:
Cushing’s disease manifests through a range of symptoms, including elevated blood sugar levels, the presence of glucose in urine (glucosuria), alkalosis, an augmentation in the overall quantity of electrolytes within the extracellular fluid, excessive thirst (polydipsia), heightened susceptibility to muscle paralysis, obesity, and the atrophy of limb muscles, among other manifestations.
